Resurfacing of Courts 3 & 4

Caversham LTC is very excited  announce the resurfacing of Courts 3 & 4 from Monday 22nd March.  Work will take between 4-5 weeks to complete, so some disruption will be unavoidable.  Please be patient with us but the result will be 2 new courts, moved forward and away from the trees at the back (no more moss problems) and resurfaced with state of the art TEXPLAY II – It will look like grass but without the mowing.

Texplay II is a polypropylene Macadam court that provides a similarly paced surface to Tennitex acrylic porous courts but offers better grip when damp and more effective cushioning.    Texplay II has permanent inlaid lines and factory made joins which are guaranteed for the life of the surface.  It is a good choice for experienced players and beginners, vets and juniors.

If you require further information please don’t hesitate to contact the office or email office@cavershamltc.co.uk.

Well done to all of this year’s champions.

Annual Tournament 2009 – Roll of Honour

60’s / 70’s Night @ Caversham LTC

The Split Rivets (no sleep till winnersh) tour came to Caversham LTC last Saturday, 12th September and rocked the house with a blend of 60’s and 70’s music. Fronted by Paul Hardaker our long standing and exceptional Club Member (for years!)

The evening was in aid of the charity Bowel Cancer UK and there was an excellent turn-out to support the event, and to have a good time as well.

Fancy dress was optional but a fair few relived their youth (or perhaps their parents youth). Plenty of pictures are being posted of the event over the next few days for your further entertainment. If you have any pictures of the night and would like to share it with everyone please email them through to the Club Office on caversham.ltc@virgin.net.

Special thanks go to Andy Bonney for making all the arrangements – Paul Hardaker and his band mates for such a great show – Zuzi Spicova for manning the bar with help from Georgie and Jack – Sean Sweet for doing the all important booze run.
