A blazing hot July day brought together the Adults and the Juniors to conclude the 2006 CLTC Club Championships in an exciting finals day. They play was as hot as the weather and a great crowd turned out to watch the play and relax at the barbecue aftrewards.

The Men's Singles was between Jonathan Thomson and Duncan Ross - Jonathan winning in two straight sets. At the same time Katharine Pike was playing Carol Hewson in the Ladies Singles, Katharine also wining in two set. Men's Doubles followed with Jon Thomson and partner David Vaughan beating Andy Bonney and Duncan Ross, again two sets.
The Ladies Doubles final looked as if it would be closely contested between Katharine Pike and Sarah Baker versus Janet Snaith and Leigh Lazenby. Katherine and Sarah took the match after Janet was injured at one game all in the first set! Janet was also in the Mixed so the final was postponed.
Elisabeth Andersson played Sophie Roseaman in the Restricted Ladies Singles, Elisabeth winning in three sets. The Restricted Men's Singles was postponed due to the injury of one of the finalists. Ladies Vets Doubles was played wih Elisabeth Andersson and Caroline Hailstone beating Tracey Hart and Alison Trim in two sets. Les Robinson and Merril Massey won the Vets Mixed played in a Round Robin format with Tracey Hart and Paul Gudge taking the runners up spot.
In the Juniors finals, Chris Ovenden and Adam Wheeler had a three set tussle against Phil McGowan and Peter Watts but Chris and Adam came through to win the U16s boys doubles. Phil then played Joshua Cardy in the U16 boys singles final, Joshua winning in two sets.
Alex Tsaptsinos beat Alex Walmsley in 2 sets in the U14 boys final. Ben Morris and Forbes Welford had a walkover to take the U14s boys doubles title.
In the U12 girls section, Loren Cardy won against Jessica DeMulder in 2 sets. They then joined forces to overcome Lucy Outram and Maria Tsaptsinos in 2 sets in the girls doubles final.
